Terry's Story

Born in Falls City, NE in 1952, Terry was the youngest of six children. When Terry was five years old his family moved to Waverly, NE. His parents, Raymond and Louise Campbell, were Christians and Terry was raised in the Nazarene Church.  When Terry became a teenager he sang in a group called the Nazarene Impact Team which traveled and sang in Nazarene Churches across Nebraska.

Terry's dad was Iowa Indian. He passed away suddenly when Terry was 16 and that's when Terry's life changed. Following his father's death Terry's mom could no longer handle Terry.  He stopped going to church, started partying, drinking, and taking drugs.  After high school he performed around the Midwest singing Country and Rock & Roll in a group called Dusty Blue and another group called Spike and the Sputniks.  He sang with these groups through the 70's, 80's,90's until 2002.  Drinking and drugs controlled his life.  He thought the world had everything he was looking for...nice cars and diamond rings; he had it all.

In 1983 God tried to get his attention as Terry had a blood clot pass from his leg to his lung.  The doctor said Terry should have died.  At the age of 33, Terry had a trachea tube placed in his throat for three years.  The doctors told him at that time that he may never sing again.  He moved back to the reservation in 1986 and tried to serve the Lord, but he just couldn't stay away from his old lifestyle.

In 1990 God tried to get Terry's attention again.  By this time he weighed 618 pounds and the doctor told him "either lose weight or die".  Terry lost 348 pounds.  In 1996 Terry began managing a lounge and restaurant  playing in the band and drinking again.  In 2004 Terry started working in the casino for the Iowa Tribe. He was promoted several times and became manager of the table games.  In 2007 he lost his job and his world turned upside down again.  Terry had everything he wanted, but suddenly it was all gone.  He was offered another job at the casino, but before he could start Terry had a heart attack.  The casino said not to worry the job would be waiting.

While going through surgery and recovery, Terry gave his heart back to the Lord.  He felt the Lord was calling him to sing gospel music, but hesitated to give up the good money he was making at the casino.  Terry prayed that if God wanted him to sing gospel music, then God would close the door on the job at the casino.  When Terry started feeling better, he called the casino to about the job and found out that the job was no longer available.  Praise the Lord!

Terry started praying earnestly and totally surrendered his heart to Jesus.  Today Terry and his Maddie travel giving their testimony.  Terry sings wherever God leads.

Terry's amazing story of forgiveness, healing, and spiritual renewal is matched by his amazing voice as he sings a wide variety of gospel music.
